One of the bad characteristics of lithium ion battery is self-discharge. It is related with voltage. So lithium ion
battery should be charged to a certain electricity volume for long term storage. The volume will gradually low
down during storage.
Below is the charged electricity volume and storage temperature relationship with lithium ion battery capacity,
Storage Temperature——40% Charged Status——100% Charged Status
0?———————–98%———————94%
25?–———————96%———————80%
40?–———————85%———————65%
60?–———————75%———————60%
We can see from above data that the higher temperature and more charged electricity volume, the greater
battery capacity loss.
It’s not recommended that lithium ion battery be stored for a long term. If user has additional lithium ion
battery, then storage condition is 40% charge status and storage temperature 15? or below.
